The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), an entity of the Department of Employment and Labour will in partnership with office bearers of Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) Gauteng Province launch digital platforms to help recover Covid-19 Temporary Employer-Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) funds as part of the “Follow the Money" project,
Known as “Thusa Babereki", the platforms will among other things enable workers to determine if Covid-19 TERS funds were claimed against their names by employers, verify if they received the correct amounts of money at each payment interval and report suspected fraud committed by employers.
