The Department of Employment and Labour, Mpumalanga Province through the Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) will embark on a five-day (08 – 12 January 2024) inspection in White River and Hazyview.

The Provincial Chief Inspector, Boikie Mampuru said, “These inspections will be targeting employers in the Agriculture, Manufacturing, Wholesale & Retail, Community, Forestry, and Hospitality sectors and further ensure that there is full compliance with employment law in these identified sectors “.

The inspections will be conducted by IES's Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA), Unemployment Insurance Contribution Act (UICA) and as well as Compensation for Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) inspectors to enforce the employment law.

The inspections aim to verify compliance in the workplaces in line with labour legislation and workshop employees on the services that are administered by the Department of Employment and Labour. The inspection project is planned to take place as follows:

08 – 12 January 2024 in White River

08 – 12 January 2024 in in Hazyview
