The Department of Employment and Labour’s Compensation Fund to engage Pensioners and Medical Service Providers in the Weste
09 October 2026

The Compensation Fund, an entity of the Department of Employment and Labour, will hold a series of Awareness sessions for Pensioners and Medical Service Providers (MSPs) in George and Cape Town, Western Cape province, respectively.

These engagement sessions serve as the Fund's continuous drive and commitment to strengthen and to enhance Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) compliance.

The Pensioners Awareness session is intended to provide Pensioners with information on Pension Benefits, Disability Claims Support, and the Required documentation to ensure that they do not experience challenges when interacting with the Fund.

During the Medical Service Providers (MSPs) session and Open Day for Medical Service Administrators, key COID operational and administrative challenges faced by the MSPs will be discussed in detail with the intention to come up with amicable solutions

Similar MSP sessions have been successfully held in the Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Kwa-Zulu Natal, and Gauteng provinces.

The Compensation Fund is committed to ensuring that COID compliance is fully adhered to through these engagements.

A Help Desk will be available on site to provide support and guidance on COIDA related matters.
