The Compensation Fund will host Domestic Workers Advocacy Session in East London, Eastern Cape Province.
The main objective of the advocacy is to educate Domestic Workers on their rights and responsibilities as well as procedures to follow after their claims have been reported by an employer to the Fund.
Domestic workers are now covered as Employees under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) 10 of 2022 as amended. This means that Domestic Workers are now entitled for compensation in the event they are injured or contract diseases while on duty.
In order to be assisted with their claims status, Domestic Workers are advised to bring along their Identity Document (ID).
The Advocacy Session will be held as follows:
Date: Saturday, 19 October 2024
Time: 09h00 – 14h00
