The Department of Employment and Labour in the Free State wishes to inform all clients and stakeholders of the temporary closure of the Petrusburg Labour Centre following a serious incident involving an attack on one of our officials.

This regrettable event has left staff members deeply traumatised and concerned for their safety. Consequently, operations at the Petrusburg Labour Centre will be suspended from Monday, 08 December 2025, and will resume on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at 07:30 AM.

Chief Director: Provincial Operations, Ms Emily Maneli, stated: “We appeal for the public's understanding and patience during this period as we prioritise the safety and well-being of our employees."
