The Department of Employment and Labour in the Free State wishes to inform members of the public that the Petrusburg Labour Centre will reopen for service delivery on Tuesday, 28 October 2025.

The Labour Centre was temporarily closed earlier this month due to community threats which had raised safety concerns for both clients and officials. Following consultations with the relevant stakeholders and a thorough assessment of the situation, the Department has determined that it is now safe to resume operations.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding shown by the public during this period and remain committed to ensuring uninterrupted access to essential departmental services," said Chief Director: Provincial Operations, Ms Emily Maneli.

The Department encourages clients to also continue using its online services at www.labour.gov.za for convenience and efficiency.
