The Department of Employment and Labour is pleased to inform the residents of Mamelodi and surrounding areas that a mobile bus has been made available to provide the full suite of the Department of Employment and Labour's services.
The services which include unemployment insurance, compensation for occupational injuries and diseases, public employment services and the inspection and enforcement services will be provided every Thursday with effect from 13 November 2025 from 08:00 - 15:30 until March 2026. These services will be provided at the Tshwane Regional Mall in Mamelodi.
This development follows the closure of the Mamelodi office, which has impacted service accessibility for a number of clients. Many were unable to utilise the online portal or travel to alternative offices in Pretoria and Bronkhorstspruit. The Department recognises that this situation has placed a significant burden on clients.
The Department has acquired the services of a mobile bus to bridge the gap caused by the office closure. In this context, the mobile bus has all the features of a regular office, and as such, our clients will be able to access all the services.
“Our mobile service point at the mall represents more than just convenience—it demonstrates the Department's unwavering commitment to meeting the needs of the public. It is a clear reflection of our dedication to delivering a responsive and performance-driven public service.
We are pleased to extend these services to the community and encourage their effective and efficient use. This initiative will assist clients with unemployment insurance benefits, compensation for occupational injuries and diseases claims, as well as the registration of jobseekers on our Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) database," said Gauteng Chief Director for Provincial Operations, Tshepo Mokomatsidi.
