Employment and Labour Minister, TW Nxesi, will deliver a keynote address at the official launch of a satellite office in the Coega Special Economic Zone (CSEZ), Gqeberha, on 18 March 2024.

The Department is to officially launch the One-Stop-Shop service in collaboration with the Coega Development Corporation. This initiative aims to establish an Employment and Labour satellite office within the Coega Special Economic Zone (CSEZ).

The primary purpose of this office is to serve all tenants and investors by providing streamlined services. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness about the department's programs while assisting with labour-related inquiries. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department and Coega Development Corporation paved the way for this significant development

These efforts will assist in bridging the information gap and carrying the mandate of the Department concerning its core functions. The Department wants to bring services closer to the people to ensure that there is compliance with labour legislation and to create a conducive environment for both employers and employees of the Coega SEZ. The Department will be servicing 58 tenants and investors across the 14 zones of the leading 9003-hectare Coega SEZ.

Tenants will be assisted with information on Unemployment Insurance Fund benefits, U-Filing, employer registration, registration of employers on the Compensation Fund (CF) filing system, information on CF benefits, registration of injury on duty and diseases claims, information on the Basic Conditions of Employment Act and National Minimum Wage Act, assistance with the placement of registered work seekers into work and learning opportunities, registration of Private Employment Agencies and Temporary Employment Services, and the facilitation of employment of foreign nationals through work visa applications.
