Employment and Labour Minister Nomakhosazana Meth to lead comprehensive Women-Led Inspection in Eastern Cape

The Minister of Employment and Labour, Ms. Nomakhosazana Meth, will on Friday, 29 August 2025, lead a multidisciplinary high-impact blitz inspection, and close Women's Month with a special parade of women in uniform across a team of law enforcement agencies in the Eastern Cape.

In commemoration of the Women's Month, the Minister will be accompanied by senior women enforcement officials, underscoring the role of women in driving compliance, accountability, and transformation in the world of work. Together, they will lead the inspection in a show of women's collective leadership and commitment to advancing safe and decent working conditions.

The initiative is a collaborative effort involving multiple stakeholders to strengthen enforcement and assess levels of compliance with key labour legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Unemployment Insurance Act, and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. The inspection will focus on the on the Roads Freight and Logistics sector in the province.
