Employment and Labour Minister announces immediate restoration of UIF online services
17 October 2024

The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) is pleased to announce that all its online services have been fully restored and are operational. Clients and stakeholders can now access uFiling, the UIF USSD service, and the data-free UIF Mobile Application to submit claims, make payments, and utilise other services.

At the end of August 2024, these platforms were temporarily taken offline due to unforeseen circumstances, resulting in a disruption of the Fund's online services.

Upon learning of the disruption, Honourable Minister Nomakhosazana Meth appointed a task team led by Acting Director-General Mr. Viwe Mlenzana to expedite the restoration of UIF online services.

"I am pleased to announce that the UIF online services are now fully operational after an unfortunate six-week disruption. We understand the significant impact this has had on our clients, especially vulnerable workers who rely on our services. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused," said Minister Meth.

Minister Meth has expressed gratitude to UIF clients and stakeholders for their patience and understanding during the period of the disruption.

"We are deeply indebted to our clients and stakeholders for their patience. We are implementing measures to minimise such occurrences in the future," said Minister Meth.

To access UIF services online, clients and stakeholders can navigate to uFiling, available at https://ufiling.labour.gov.za/

The UIF USSD services can be accessed by dialling *134*843# from any type of cellphone. Smartphone users can download the data free UIF Mobile Application from the Google PlayStore or Apple App Store to access UIF services.
