The Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, Jomo Sibiya, will oversee a multidisciplinary High Impact Blitz Inspection in the Eastern Cape Province on 06 November 2025. This strategic initiative brings together inter-sectoral departments to ensure rigorous and coordinated oversight across workplaces.

The inspection aims to enforce labour legislation, safeguard workers' rights, and promote fair, safe, and sustainable working conditions through integrated interdepartmental collaboration. It represents a unified effort by multiple stakeholders to strengthen regulatory enforcement and evaluate compliance with key labour legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Unemployment Insurance Act, and the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.

This collaborative approach reinforces the commitment to promoting a compliant and ethical labour environment across the province.
