19 November 2025

The Department of Employment and Labour in Gauteng will host a Jobs and Careers Fair and Employer Engagement Session on the 21st of November 2025 at the University of Pretoria (Mamelodi Campus). The event aims to increase access to employment opportunities, strengthen employer and the Department partnerships, and promote awareness of the Department's full basket of services.

The Jobs and Careers Fair will provide a platform for work-seekers in Mamelodi and surrounding communities to register on the ESSA system, interact directly with potential employers, and access a broad range of labour market services.

The programme will feature:

  • Public Employment Services (PES): Work seeker registration, counselling, and opportunity canvassing;
  • Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES): Compliance enquiries and inspections;
  • Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF): Claims enquiries, applications, and processing;
  • Compensation Fund (CF): Compensation claim enquiries and processing;
  • Employer Session: Engagement with employers on employment creation, UIF compliance, and labour market policies; and
  • Exhibitions: Various stakeholders and the Departmental units will be showcasing their service offerings.

    As part of the event, the Department invites employers to participate in a dedicated engagement session aimed at raising awareness of Public Employment Services and demonstrating the value these services add to business operations. The session will also explore partnerships that support employer recruitment needs and enhance organisational productivity, while creating a platform for employers and the Department to discuss mutually beneficial opportunities, experiences, and challenges within the labour market.
