Department of Employment and Labour to host Employer Seminar and Community Outreach event in Northern Cape Province

The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting employers from all sectors in Northern Cape Province to an Employer Seminar in Upington which will take place on Friday, 14 February 2025.

At the seminar, employers from various sectors will learn about the importance of complying with various labour laws and their regulations including the Unemployment Insurance Act, the National Minimum Wage Act (NMWA), the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) Act, and other Labour laws. Furthermore, employers will receive an update on the Unemployment Insurance Fund's (UIF) Follow-the-Money Project, as well as Risk and Anti-Fraud Management activities within the Department and its entities.

Technical experts from the UIF and other branches of the Department will be available to assist employers with any challenges they might be experiencing.

As such the Employer Seminar will take place as per the below details:

Time: 09h00-13h00

Various activities will take place in Upington leading up to a Community Outreach event that will take place on Saturday 15 February 2025. 

  • 10 February 2025: Marchad Community Hall and Vredesvallei Community Hall
  • 11 February 2025: Augrabies Community Hall and Riemvasmaak Community Hall
  • 12 February 2025: Grootdrink Community Hall
  • 13 February 2025: Topline Community Hall
  • 14 February 2025: Wegdraai Community Hall and Keimoes CWP Offices (Old Hostel)
