Department of Employment and Labour brings together construction industry in a National Construction Health and Safety Semi

Various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, subcontractors, project employees, suppliers, government authorities, and regulatory bodies will come together to map strategic cooperation to promote decent work and achieve vision zero in occupational injuries and disease in the national construction health and safety conference.

The conference will be held under the theme: “Prioritizing Construction Health and Safety". More than 400 delegates are expected to attend the seminar.

The keynote address will be delivered by Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, Mr. Jomo Sibiya. He will be joined by several distinguished speakers, including Ms. Milly Ruiters, Chief Inspector at the Department of Employment and Labour; Ms. Aggy Moiloa, Inspector General of the Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) branch; Ms. Nomawethu Toyo, Manager at the Federated Employers Mutual Assurance Company; Ms. Sindi Kwenaite, Executive at the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP); Advocate Toto Fiduli from the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP); and Mr. Hilton Ganesen, Construction Specialist at the Department.

Additional contributions will come from representatives of labour, government, business, and members of the Construction Technical Committee.
