The Compensation Fund held an Open Day and networking dinner sessions in Polokwane, Limpopo Province on Monday, 11 August 2025.
The objective of the sessions was to provide an opportunity for the Fund and the Medical Service Providers to engage and address Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) challenges they might be experiencing and come up with possible solutions.
The networking dinner session was attended by amongst others, General Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Social Workers and Emergency officials. The Open Day session was for Medical Service Administrators.
“Medical service providers who previously rendered medical services but have not received payment it is because they failed to provide required supporting documents for claims" said Ms Raheena Harisprsad, Deputy Director for Medical Payments at the Fund during her presentation on Medical benefits and Claims.
According to the Assistant Director: Rehabilitation Ms Lebohang Boshielo there are no Rehabilitation hospitals in Limpopo province meaning that injured employees are rehabilitated as outpatients in most instances. She appealed to the Medical Service Providers that injured employees should be rehabilitated with the intention to get them back to work.
Medical Service Providers were also reminded to register on the Fund's portal, once registered they are able to submit medical reports. Invoices must be submitted using the Online App or where necessary manual submissions and follow up on the progress thereof. The networking session was interactive as Medical Service Providers engaged and raised their concerns after presentations by the Fund.
The Fund will continue engaging with Medical Service Providers to ensure that occupationally injured employees are taken care of.
