The Compensation Fund an entity of the Department of Employment and Labour, will host Security Services sector workshop in Polokwane, Limpopo Province.
The purpose of the workshop is to engage employers in the security industry on the importance of Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) compliance and to provide practical tools, education and support to improve on Return of Earnings (ROE) submissions, debt payments, and overall adherence to the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA).
The Security Services sector is critical in maintaining public and private safety in South Africa. However, data from the Compensation Fund indicates that this sector has the highest outstanding debt and falls within the top 10 low Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) compliance industries.
A help desk service will also be available onsite to assist with queries relating to COID claims and compliance issues.
