The Department of Employment and Labour's Compensation Fund will host the Medical Service Administrators Open Service Day and Advocacy Session for Medical Service Providers (MSPs) in Ku Gompo City on Saturday, 20 June 2026, in the Eastern Cape Province.
These will be the second sessions to be held in Eastern Cape province by the Fund for the 2026/2027 financial year; the first successful sessions were held recently in Gqeberha.
The objectives of these engagements are to intensify Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) compliance in the medical sector, as well as to deal with any challenges experienced by both MSPs and the Compensation Fund.
According to the COID Provincial Services in the Eastern Cape province, the main challenges are delays in user registration, which result in MSPs not receiving passwords on time, and delays in processing of backlog invoices, linked to the fact that employers report claims late to the Fund.
These sessions, therefore, serve as an opportunity for the Fund and Medical Service Providers to address these challenges and come up with amicable solutions that will be of benefit for both parties.
The sessions will also provide information on the following COID-related matters:
-Medical Benefits: Medical Services, Medical Claims, and Medical Billing and Clinical Coding
-Rehabilitation, Reintegration & Return-to-Work & Bursaries Programme
- Risk, Anti-Corruption and Integrity Management
-CompEasy claim system demonstration
The Fund will continue engaging Medical Service Providers to ensure that occupationally injured employees are taken care of.
