Pledge


I pledge to uphold the principles of labour rights and productive work and of the Construction Health and Safety Accord and to be part of

“The movement for Decent Work in South Africa’s construction sector”

As part of the Decent Work in Construction movement for promoting labour rights and improving enterprise productivity”. I commit to:

  1. Advocating for workers’ rights to safe, secure, and compliant working conditions. Believing that “Safety is Our Priority” is essential, I will champion a workplace that fosters stability, security, meaningful remuneration, effective representation, and equal opportunities.
  2. Facilitating effective workplace inspections to ensure decent work and compliant work environments acknowledging that “Inspection Protects Workers,” and that compliance is key to maintaining safety, dignity and productivity in the workplace.
  3. Promoting labour law compliance to protect workers from exploitative practices and to enhance labour productivity. Standing by “Zero Tolerance for Exploitation,” I commit to report any labour law malpractices I find to the nearest Labour Centre.
  4. Contributing to building capacity through continuous learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing to create decent and productive workplaces.  I commit to “Building a Decent Work and Productivity oriented Construction Sector”,” I will prioritize learning and education for reciprocal and mutually beneficial industry outcomes.

I am part of the movement for Decent Work in Construction, where promoting labour rights and improving enterprise productivity go hand in hand. I pledge to help build a construction industry that values safety, dignity, ethical practices, quality and productivity.
