UIF in Limpopo Province to take services to the people of Senwabarwana (Bochum)
08 December 2023

The Department of Employment and Labour's entity, the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) in Limpopo Province, will be embarking on a “Taking Services to the People" campaign in Senwabarwana, also known as Bochum in the Blouberg Local Municipality of the Capricorn District Municipality.

The two-weeks initiative is aimed at bringing the departments' services closer to the community of Senwabarwana who have to travel a long distance to access the departmental services.

According to Director Beneficiary Services Vuledzani Netshituka, the visiting point situated in the Senwabarwana Magistrate Offices, has been inundated with long queues of clients who are desperate to access the department's services particularly that of the UIF.

“As and when there is an outcry from the community with regards to our service offering at the visiting point, we make it our priority to respond as a matter of urgency. The community is situated in a remote area and many of our clients are not in a good financial position to travel to the nearest labour centre situated in Seshego. Thus, is it imperative for us to meet our clients halfway and bring on-board extra capacity to assist officials who visit the area on a weekly basis," highlighted Netshituka.

During the two weeks, clients will be assisted with their UIF applications, claims assessment, processing of payments and resolving enquiries.

Clients are encouraged to bring along ID or passport, a complete UI-19 form completed by employer, a UI-2.8 form, and a salary schedule.

The UIF was established to provide short term financial relief to workers, subject to particular conditions. The benefits offered include unemployment, reduced work time, illness, maternity, adoption, dependents and parental benefits.

The campaign will run as follows:

Date: 11 – 13 December 2023

Date: 18 – 21 December 2023

Venue: Senwabarwana (Bochum) Magistrate Offices

Time: 07:30 – 16:00
