The Unemployment Insurance Fund has been providing financial relief to millions of workers through the Covid-19 TERS Relief Scheme since 27 March 2020 to alleviate the harsh conditions brought about by the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The Covid-19 TERS Scheme has ceased after applications for the last period (16 September 2020 to 15 October 2020) closed on 31 December 2020
UIF beneficiaries who are still affected by closures due to Covid-19 will now be compensated through the already existing Short Term/Reduced Work Time Benefit
