Nedlac host 25th annual national summit and signing of the social compact to support Eskom

The National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac), the vehicle that promotes socio-economic dialogue between government, business, labour and community constituencies will hold its 25th Annual National Summit.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic this year’s historic summit will be held virtually on 08 December 2020. It will be held under the theme: "Social compacting for economic recovery in the time of Covid-19 pointers to the future".

The Nedlac Annual Summit will include a key note address by the Republic of South Africa’s Deputy President, David Mabuza, an overview of Nedlac’s activities of the past year and panel including the following speakers who will look address the theme of the Summit:

     

  • • ILO Director General, Mr Guy Ryder
  •  

     

  • • Mistra Executive Director, Joel Netshitenzhe
  •  

     

  • • South Africa’s Ambassador to Spain, HE Thenjwe Mtintso
  •  

     

  • • XESIBE Holdings Managing Director and On-Air Personality, Mr Ayabonga Cawe
  •  

 

The different social partners from business, community, labour and government constituency will also reflect on their impression of the current socio-economic environment as well as the social compacting and pointers for the future.

The summit will end with the signing of the Social Compact to support Eskom after which it will be released to the public.
