Employment and Labour to host Employer Seminar and Open Day- Eastern Cape

The Department of Employment and Labour's Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) invites clients from Fort Beaufort and surrounding areas in Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality, Eastern Cape to an Employer Seminar and Open Day. 

 

The Open Day aims to bring departmental services closer to the people in ensuring that all employers and employees comply with labour laws and can enquire about their UIF benefits and claims.

 

During the Employer Seminar, the Department will educate employers about the UIF's systems, benefits, services, processes, and compliance with legislation. An emphasis will be placed on the importance of employers registering and declaring their workers, as well as paying monthly contributions.

 

Services to be provided to employees and clients on the open day include registration of work seekers on the Employment System of South Africa (ESSA) database, resolving Unemployment Insurance Fund and Occupational Injuries and Diseases claims and inquiries, processing of applications and claims assessment and providing Inspection and Enforcement Services.

The Department seeks to respond to service delivery challenges through advocacy, marketing, and advertisement of departmental services whilst assisting with challenges faced by clients and strengthening relations with Departmental Stakeholders.

Clients are advised to bring the following documents related to the service required;

  • South African Barcoded Identity Document/Smart card
  • Driving License
