Department of Labour’s Compensation Fund partners East London Industrial Development Zone to meet stakeholders
15 MAY 2019

The Compensation Fund is to host a breakfast networking session in partnership with the East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ).

The engagement is part of a national initiative by the Compensation Fund to interact with its stakeholders and improve relations. The Compensation Fund had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ELIDZ dating back in March 2019 and this networking session is part of its first implementation phase.

The spotlight of the networking session will focus on:

· New proposed Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) Bill update
· CF-Filing system and E-Coid system
· New Employers Assessment Model Regulation update

The Compensation Fund is a public entity of the Department of Labour. The Fund administers the Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act No 130/1993 as amended by the COID Act 61/1997. The main objective of the Act is to provide compensation for disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases sustained or contracted by employees, or for death resulting from injuries or diseases, and provide for matters connected therewith.

The media is invited to the networking session:
Date: 20 May 2019
