The inspections conducted to employers in the Private Security Sector in Mpumalanga have revealed low levels of compliance to labour laws, particularly the National Minimum Wage Act and Basic Conditions of Employment.

This prompted the Department to organise a seminar to engage employers and employees in the Private Security Sector with a special focus on compliance to the National Minimum Wage Act and  Basic Conditions of Employment.

The seminar will cover the following topics:

*          Illegal deductions;

*          Under-payment of National Minimum Wage;

*          Non - complaint to written particulars of employment (contracts); and

*          Long hours of work and non registration to the Unemployment and Compensation Fund.
