The International Labour Organisation (ILO) office in Pretoria invites you to an interactive press briefing as it hosts the 11th appointed Director General of the ILO, Gilbert F. Houngbo, for the first time in South Africa. Houngbo is also the first DG of the ILO from the African continent.

 At the top of the agenda of the discussions being held during this visit, is the ILO's push for measures to prioritize social justice – including the reduction of inequalities - in national and global policymaking.

During his visit, the DG will meet with President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Minister of Employment and Labour, Thulas Nxesi, members of National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) and UN officials. The DG will meet other key Ministries including, Finance amongst others in the Employment and Economy Cluster.
