Worker dies after horse truck door falls on him

The Labour Department in the Free State is investigating the fatal injury of a horse keeper who died when the back door of a horse-transporting vehicle fell on him near Odendaalsrus.

According to the reports a cable which holds the back door of the truck came loose and fell on the deceased who sustained head injuries and died on the scene on Tuesday (03 Aug).

Labour inspectors are currently at the scene of the accident to investigate the cause of death and whether Occupational Health and Safety standards were complied with at the time of the accident.
