The Compensation Fund (CF) has urged members of the public to update their banking details

Released by Department of Labour on 10 June 2008

The Compensation Fund (CF) has urged members of the public to update their banking details in the wake of many payments bouncing back due to incorrect banking information from claimants.

Labour Spokesperson Zolisa Sigabi said today (Tue) the call was prompted by the problem constantly hampering the Fund’s drive to fast-track payments and eliminate backlogs.

“This problem is resulting in many unnecessary payout delays. We urge our clients to immediately update their banking details with the CF or risk not getting payments due to them,” she said.

Employers, workers and medical service providers who lodged compensation claims with the Fund should visit their nearest Labour Centre and obtain forms on which to update banking details.

Forms are also available on the Department of Labour’s website (http://www.labour.gov.za).

“We are calling on all stakeholders to partner with us, to avoid further delays in payments,” Sigabi said.
