South Africa's trade relations with China will be further cemented,
with skills empowerment and job creation dominating discussions during
next week?s five-day official visit by that country?s Labour and Social
Security Ministry delegation.
China?s Labour and Social Security Vice Minister ZHANG Xiajian and
his compatriots arrive in Cape Town on Monday (9 October) where he and
Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana will hold bilateral
talks before signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
Between Tuesday and Friday, the visitors and the Labour Department?s
top officials will visit several skills training projects in both the
Western Cape and Gauteng in between meetings where they are expected to
exchange expertise and ideas on enhancing skills development.
These include meeting officials of the Umsobomvu Youth Fund and the
Agriculture SETA respectively to discuss employment creation, visiting
the INDLELA skills assessment centre and the Tshwane North College to
