The employment of all taxi workers are governed by this
legislation.
The determination sets -
- minimum wages
- working hours
- number of leave days
- termination rules.
Application
Sectoral Determination 11 applies to all employers and workers in
the Taxi sector in South Africa, including –
- taxi drivers;
- administrative staff;
- rank marshals;
- cleaning staff; and
- employees who assist in collecting of fares and the loading and
off-loading of passengers.
This determination does not apply to –
- owner drivers;
- employers and workers in the metered taxi sector;
- employers and workers covered by another bargaining council
agreement in terms of the Labour Relations Act 1995.
The Basic Conditions of Employment Act applies in respect of
any matter not covered by this sectoral determination.
