The employment of contract cleaning workers is governed by this
legislation.
The determination sets -
- minimum wages
- working hours
- number of leave days
- termination rules.
Application
Sectoral Determination 1 applies to all employers and workers in
the Contract Cleaning sector in South Africa, but not to –
- administrative personnel;
- workers who work less than 24 hours a month;
- employers and workers covered by another bargaining council
agreement in terms of the Labour Relations Act 1995.
The Basic Conditions of Employment Act applies in respect of any
matter not covered by this sectoral determination.
