23 May 2011

Shops owned by foreign nationals, situated in Lebowakgomo (Limpopo) will have unpleasant customers this week. This after the Department of Labour in Limpopo (Lebowakgomo office) together with scores of stakeholders such as SARS, SAPS, Department of Health, Department of Home Affairs, amongst others, will be checking levels of compliance with their respective legislations.

This blitz inspection, according to Peggy Mahungu, an Assistant Director: Labour Centre Operations, responsible for Lebowakkomo office, will commence on 23 until 26 May and will see a brigade of inspectors and other stakeholders visiting places such as Apel, Lepelle complexes, MetLife and Maphudiphasha complexes (Lebowakgomo Zone F), Moletlane, amongst others.

“We will ensure that no stone is left unturned during this operation and those found wanting will face the full might of the law. Our forever wary inspectors and other stakeholders promise to make it rain on the parade of those who ignore the law” Mahungu says.

According to Albert Tshidavhu, Chief Director: Provincial Operations in Limpopo, the inspection is a continuation of successful joint operations, which took place in areas such as Mokgopong, Musina and Giyani earlier on.
