by lloyd last modified 2013-03-05 12:44

5 March 2013

The Department of Labour’s public hearings on Taxi and Hospitality Sectors’ wages and employment conditions will continue at Rustenburg Civic Centre, 1 Kloof Road in North West province tomorrow ( Wednesday).

The purpose of the hearings is to give employers, employees and organised labour in the taxi and hospitality sectors, the opportunity to influence the sectoral determination to be effected in July this year.

Once the hearings are concluded in all provinces, the Department  will forward all the inputs to the Employment Conditions Commission (ECC). – the body that advices the minister on wages and other working conditions.

The ECC will make recommendations to the Minister who will then make final determinations for the sectors.
