Labour to release Annual Industrial Action Report 2011

Department of Labour Director-General Nkosinathi Nhleko cordially invites the media to the official launch of the Annual Industrial Action Report 2011 at a media briefing to be held at the department’s head office on (Wednesday) August 8, 2012.

Nhleko is expected to present the key findings of the report. The department’s report captures a five-year comparative analysis of strike activity until 2011; it reports on the comparative analysis of work stoppages in 2010 and 2011 in terms of provincial, industry, their nature, duration and trade union involvement among others; wage settlements in 2011; and profile of work stoppages.  

Further details and related matters on Industrial Action Report will be presented by Nhleko at a media briefing.

Details of the media briefing are as follows:

TIME: 9am for 10am-12:00.

VENUE: Room G01, Ground Floor, Laboria House 215 Corner Francis Baard (Schoeman Street) and Paul Kruger Street, Pretoria.

(Private parking can be found at Schoeman Street, a one-way street that runs from West to East of Pretoria, on the left hand side just after passing the Department’s offices next to a set of traffic lights).
