18-October-2013

Compliance with the new sectoral determination, occupational health and safety and overall working conditions on farms, are some of the items to be addressed by the Minister of Labour, Mildred Oliphant at the upcoming Farm Workers Seminar taking place on the West Coast this weekend.

The Minister will use this platform to highlight some of the challenges and successes made in addressing the working conditions of farm workers. This comes as the Department concludes its week-long agricultural blitz inspection in the West Coast and Cape Winelands areas.

Farm workers from as far as Worcester, De Doorns and Robertson are expected to join workers from the Cederberg area for this important engagement with the Minister.

Media are invited to attend the event:

Date:              Sunday, 20 October 2013

Venue:           Cederberg Academic School, Muller Street, Citrusdal

Time:             10:00 – 14:00
