by lloyd last modified 2018-10-31 13:34

31 October 2018

The Department of Labour’s Inspectorate and Enforcement Services unit in the North West Province will embark on a three-days blitz inspections starting from the 31 October to the 02 November 2018 targeting the Agricultural Sector in the North West province.

These blitz inspections will see a number of farms inspected for compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Sectoral Determination 13 on Farm Worker sector), Unemployment Insurance Act and Occupational Health & Safety Act. The agricultural sector was identified by the province as one of the sectors that has challenges in terms of compliance with the Labour Laws thus disadvantaging its employees.

The team led by the Provincial Chief Inspector Mr Boikie Mampuru will enforce compliance with labour legislations and improve compliance.

During the inspections, non-compliance, if any, will be identified and those found to be non-compliant will be brought to book.
