Compensation Fund Commissioner, Vuyo Mafata, plays host to two breakfast networking sessions with stakeholders

The Compensation Fund (CF) Commissioner, Vuyo Mafata will this week play host to two breakfast networking sessions with its stakeholders.

The first networking session will be held with the Wesvaal Chamber of Business on 19 July 2018 at the Protea Hotel in Klerksdorp in the North West Province.

The second networking session will be held in partnership with the Free State Black Business Chamber on 20 July 2018 at Windmill Casino in Bloemfontein.

The Compensation Fund has been having a national roadshow of networking sessions with various stakeholders in provinces since last year. The Fund uses the sessions to build more partnerships with various industry bodies and organisations.

Some of the topics under discussion include:

·          The role of Compensation Fund in assessment, return of earnings, etc.

·          CF filling system

·          New proposed CF Bill

The Compensation Fund is a public entity under the administration of Department of Labour. The Fund’s mandate is to administer the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. The main objective of the Act is to provide compensation for disablement caused by occupational injuries or diseases sustained or contracted by workers, or for death resulting from such injuries or diseases, and provide for matters connected therewith.
