Sectoral Determination 2: Civil Engineering Sector

This legislation applies only to employers and workers in the civil engineering sector, and sets -
  • minimum wages,
  • working hours,
  • number of leave days, and
  • termination rules.

Application

The sectoral determination for civil engineering applies to employers and workers in the civil engineering sector, but not to-
  • senior managerial workers;
  • workers earning more than R56 000 a year; and
  • workers engaged in emergency work.

The Basic Conditions of Employment Act applies in respect of any matter not covered by this sectoral determination.
